The Google Earth Blog tells us Fox TV is now providing weather information using Google Maps/Earth. From the blog: "The significant point here is that this is the first major TV network to support Google Maps and GE for weather reporting. CBS has been outputting geotagged RSS feeds of CBS news for GE, but it is very basic - just placemarks with nice descriptions and a link to each story. FOX's implementation is also relatively simple for weather reporting (no radar, satellite photos, or time slider animations), but its a good step nonetheless."

We have to admit, even if storm tracking is not your job, the power of virtual globes is shown with these storm tracking and weather tools for Google Earth from the Google Earth Blog. Weather data is one of my favorite applications in Google Earth of this ability. Imagine pulling in the latest satellite photos, radar animations, hurricane tracking, live web cams on the ground, sea surface temperature analysis, etc."
