LKS writes "I was looking through the back issues of Earth Observation Magazine and came across a short but nice remote sensing tutorial in the July 2005 issue. Once you get the basics down, you can check out the Remote Sensing Tutorial over at NASA."

Think about it, why would a biologist need to know any optical theory to use RS data? They'd just need to know what the data are representing. Knowing the basics of the EM spectrum would be handy, but beyond that I don't see a need.
